    Hi Charles

I am planning to grow squashes (Ghost pumpkin, Crown Prince, Invincible and Uchiki Kuri) through a membrane/sheet as the area is still infested with bindweed. Should I make additional holes in the membrane for the squashes to put down extra roots along the stem or is it sufficient for them to root down in the main planting hole.

    Many thanks for the advice.

I find that one hole suffices.
It is better for keeping light off the bindweed.
    And the squash grow fine.
