Hi Charles. I received my order of seed potatoes yesterday – Rooster Early Main – and I am concerned that this is too early and they will start sprouting too much before I plant them. My plan was to plant them over Easter but would you advise to plant them sooner Charles and fleece them over.
Many thanks, as always, for any advice.
    Best wishes, Jan.

Just lay them on a tray in a windowsill where the light means their sprouts stay short and won’t be damaged at planting. That is called chitting!

I’ve just picked up my seed potatoes, Arran Pilot and Home Guard for my first earlies and Charlotte for my second early. I’ve put put my first earlies out to chit. Should I delay the process for my second earlies or can I get them underway now?
