    Charles.
Just wondered your opinion on sowing sweetcorn? I have the option of using multi-cell trays 2.5 x 2.5cm or 12 cell 4.5 x 4.5cm then re-pot up to 9cm when ready. Would you think the 2.5cm cells are too small for this? Thanks.

Hi Ron and I would use the 2.5cm cells, as they just need to germinate really, before you pot them on. So you will save space in the greenhouse.
Thanks for your comment on Kings Boltardy, it shows I think how the seed companies’ germination tests are not fit for (garden) purpose.

Ron I have successfully harvested good corn cobs after sowing in 5cm soil blocks and planting out at 3-4 weeks. Corn grows very well under fleece, so putting out young plants is usually not a problem.

    Hi Charles & Rhys.
Thanks to you both for your comments, much appreciated.
Have sown them direct into 9cm pots before, but need to do this for a larger quantity this year.
    Thanks again.
    Ron.
