    Hi All,

Just made 2 raised beds which I intend to be no dig.

Managed to get access to some (what I think is…) horse manure with straw. its light brown and very crumbly so I’m guessing that’s suggesting that its rotten already?

Ive no intention of using these particular beds anytime soon so my question is should I just leave the the ‘mulch / manure’ which ive put on the beds exposed or cover them with black polythene until im ready to use? would the cover make any difference / assist in the manure rotting etc

    Any help appreciated! Thanks Richie

    Hi Richie

I would cover the manure on your new beds with black polythene – I think it will encourage worms to come up to the surface and break down the manure on the top to a finer tilth.

    Good luck with it!
