Hello, I have some leeks in the ground that I sowed too late (end of July) and are therefore very small. I was wondering, would it work to transplant them to a new bed for next year? If so, when should this be done? Thank you!

Hi Antonia, it may work better, depending how thick they are and what variety too, to remove tiddlers, cut out larger ones for eating now and spread compost along the row so the remainder can grow on, with more space round them.

Leeks flower in late April so by the time they establish from transplanting now, that will be their thought! I may be wrong, you could try a few to see.
