    Hallo Charles,
I’ve been diligently carting barrow loads of lovely well rotted horse manure and spreading a thick layer on my beds as this is the first time I have tried going ‘no dig’. I am now out of all the well rotted stuff and would still like to put cardboard down over my weedy raspberries and then mulch. Can I use the less well rotted stuff, ie you can see sawdust and dung, as I am not going to dig it in or plant in it?
Lovely sunny day in Somerset, been working in my shirt sleeves, a great tonic.
    Thanks
    Sarah

Hi Sarah, yes your plan is good, to use the less decomposed manure around raspberries, as you suggest it can finish decomposing on the surface, and help suppress weeds.
