My leek plants were fine when transplanted a couple of weeks ago. The leaves are now slowly turning yellow, then brown, then falling off. I assume this is the dreaded leek moth?

Would fine netting be any use?

A related question – I am going to buy some blue pipe for supporting the net, from a plumbing merchants, what size diameter do I need?

    Many thanks

Leek moth damage is invisible, in the plant’s centre. Outer leaves degrading sounds like the plants are “regrouping” after the transplant, some damage is normal but I would give some water and see if that helps, they may be dry.

Not sure of pipe diameter, just strudy either three quarter or one inch probably.
