    hello Charles and fellow growers

hope this isn’t to stupid a question but here goes

do you just drape enviromesh over your crops or do you cover via the use of hoops etc.

is there any benefit in suspending it so it doesn’t inhibit growth

im mainly cover all my alliums (onions, shallots, garlic and leeks) and my carrots.

my calabrese and cabbage will be covered by debris netting via frames or hoops

Hi Ladbrokes, I find that most vegetables are happy to push it up, with no supporting hoops, especially fleece which is so light.

Because mesh is heavier, I sometimes suspend it from wire hoops, at least until plants are established, and if you use it on alliums that is worthwhile because their leaves point upwards so much.
