    Hi Charles et al,
I’ve recently discovered a rich vein of horse manure at the local stables. It is three spits deep. It is interesting as when I dig it out from the bottom it is more like peat, coming out in square blocks and with almost no sign of original constituent straw, hay or wood shavings. It has to be pretty ancient. I am guessing at least 5 years old.
Can anyone offer any wisdom as to the usefulness of stuff like this?
I am guessing it will not be of much interest to shredders so I wonder how it may affect the garden ecosystem.
    Thanks
    Neil

Neil I should be most happy to use that. Say no more than an inch, or less.
May be full of weed seeds, but worth it, great food for microbes etc.
