    Hi all
As we have not had any rain for quite some time I do wonder if we should be watering the autumn sown onions, They are already beginning to have brown skins and are almost ready I think, but if I watered them would they get bigger? as for the spring sown onions should they also be watered?

Ali, your autumn sown onions are indeed almost ripe and I see no need to water them now, best leave to start maturing in the dry conditions.
Spring sown onions may benefit from watering, depending on soil and weather. I have not yet watered mine and with no dig, the better moisture retention means less watering generally. I am watering lettuce!

thank you Charles I wondered if that was the case but as I write we are having some very light rain and it is forecast overnight so that will save a job.
