What are these…?

I read this piece about onions. It speaks of a bunching type onion which regrows/makes more bulbs. What are these? I know the walking onions but selp propogating green onions sounds very interesting.

 Yes they are perennial onions: mine are flowering now, with leaves you can still use. You need to find somebody with a clump for dividing a bit of root!

Most onions look similar and this piece confuses me because it says that onions we know as spring onions, such as White Lisbon, are also perennial, whilst I think they need sowing every time so they are Allium Cepa.

Hope you are doing fine.
I have never seen/heard from those here. Do you have names or places where I could order them? I found some sites in the USA but they don’t ship to Europe. I would love to have everlasting onions!
Did you ever try/eat them?

Agree on your last sentence that is also what made it confusing for me. 100% sure they don’t reproduce though it might be an idea to let some flower if you have good terrain and see if they reproduce.

I got some red welsh onions from the same company and they grow really well. Also, there are perennial leeks – Babington leek – you can get them from Chiltern seeds.
