When to cloche?

    Hi Charles,

    This warm weather is good for my log pile, not so good for the caterpillars! (and hornets, but that’s another non-garden story)

    So when do you reckon is good for putting the plastic on outdoor cloche beds?

    Feels to me I should wait until it gets cold! Although rabbit is just starting to hover with his eyes on the endive! I could mesh in the meantime,

     Yes if it was cold, the cover could go on now. Also it could if you expect to be short of leaves in November. Otherwise it is good for the soil to be rained on and fully damp, before cloching in early November, roughly.

    Good luck with keeping the rabbit off!
