    personally I would have taken it off after they had germinated. They may need heat to germinate but most seedling then do best at a lower temperature.

    Hi Don
    Elliot Coleman is a well known organic gardener from the US. He has written many books and has been followed by most organic growers. If you look him up on you tube there are many videos all worth watching.

    Hi Don
    Elliot Coleman advises a 2″ spacing. Your soil needs to be in good condition.

    Plant your maincrop potatos early, even before your first earlies. They are then ready before blight really hits. You can also mound them up at the same time. It gives frost protection if needed and save you time later in the season.
