The Adelaide variety of the carrot is best to grow during November in the greenhouse and outdoors in July.Onions,Shallots and Garlic are great to grow over the winter. The weather is getting to be really cold out here and I have to start winterizing my garden pretty soon http://inthebackyard.ca/tips-to-choose-the-perfect-windows-for-your-garden-shed/ I have already covered most of the plants with crop covers.

I think it is better if you replant it.This can happen when the plant does not get enough cold needed for its growth.

You can get rid of the nettles by digging them up carefully. You could either compost these nettles or get rid of them using a weedkiller containing a glyphosphate. This may take about 3 -4 weeks for the nettles to die and may require another second treatment.Since the glyphosphate only acts on the chlorophyll this will not affect the soil.
