Thanks for this Robin – I will take note for next year.
It does help to know it’s not just me – hope my customers understand that. K

Yes basil and parsley are great!
Thought I would plant some small lettuces – which are ready to go out – into the polytunnel. Just have to make some room… This biblical rain is PANTS. K

Ok – will wait and see with fleecing tomatoes…
I have no heat in greenhouse so basil in still small. I hope it will survive.
Can I ask you again about whether or not to feed tomatoes in buckets in greenhouse?

Thanks Charles. I mean young plants – I haven’t noticed more slugs or large maggots. This rain looks set in for rest of week. I think it may be mildew on young plants is that possible? K

Thanks Ros – that makes good sense. I wonder what part of the country you are in but I think I will do the same. K

    Hi Afric,
I started a no dig salad growing patch last August. Having mulched with black silage plastic I simply covered the area with cow manure and then some compost. The edges gently slope away – I have no wooden edges. This saves a large amount of money and I have very few slugs – almost no slug damage to newly planted out seedlings. Good luck with your garden. Hi Louise,
Apparently under a hose pipe ban we are allowed to use a pipe with holes in it on a timer (Gardener’s question time….) What exactly this entails I’m not quite sure – perhaps someone else was listening more attentively. K

I got Freckles seed form Sarah Raven Seed and More Veg. Both have germinated well – you get more seed form Sarah Raven but it’s more expensive. Both available on line. K
